Family Fair Event

In 1971, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) established the first week of April as “Week of the Young Child.” This fun-filled week celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. The CCOE Children’s Services department has historically taken part in this event, now known as the “Month of the Young Child,” through the department’s annual Family Fair event.  Vendors from across Colusa County attend this free event and provide resources and family-friendly activities including live music, face painting, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, play areas, and much more.  The 2026 Family Fair date will be announced in early 2026!
