About the LCCPC

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Colusa County Local Child Care Planning Council (LPC) is to plan for child care and development services based on the needs of families in the local community.  Through collaboration, planning, training, and advocacy, the LPC will serve as a forum to address the child care needs of all families in the community, for all types of child care, both subsidized and non-subsidized.
 

Our History

The Colusa County Board of Supervisors and the Colusa County Superintendent of Schools approved the formation of the Colusa County LPC in October 1991, in accordance with the state law established by the Assembly bill 2141. Assembly Bill 2141 defines the formation of the county level child care planning councils for the purpose of advising the Boards on all matters in relation to child care.

 

Our Purpose

  • Assess and coordinate the current and future delivery of child care care services and programs within the county.
  • Determine funding priorities for distribution of state and federal child development funding.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive countywide child care plan with ongoing review.
  • Seek and advocate funding for child care services and programs Work with community agencies, businesses, and organizations to support and enhance community child care resources and services.
  • Promote the quality of child care and development services through public education, provider education, and provision of support services.
